Hyalite Opal (Glass Opal) 0.92CT

RECOMMEND POINT
This is a very rare collector's stone.

Hyalite opal is derived from the Greek word hualos, which means glass.

Because of its glass-like appearance, it is commonly known as glass opal and is one of the most difficult opal species to produce.

As it is called glass opal, it is characterized by unique bubble-like and rhytidic inclusions.

It has an appearance of a collection of small, transparent, granular to grape-like nodules, and in most cases, hyalite opal is left in its rough state.

The reason for this is the large amount of loss that occurs when cutting.
When a stone is faceted for use as a gemstone, 60-80% of the original rough stone is removed.

It is the rarest of all opals and is therefore a popular collection stone.

In particular, Hyalite, which emits a neon green color when exposed to ultraviolet light (black light), has received high praise.

It contains trace amounts of uranyl, an element that is a residue of uranium, and fluoresces when exposed to ultraviolet light.

By the way, you may be reluctant to hear the word uranium, but please rest assured that it has no effect on the human body.

Of course, not all hyalite is fluorescent, but it is a natural product that occurs by chance that gives it its mysterious appearance.

Rare fluorescent hyalite opal.
This is a highly recommended stone for your collection.
