However, opportunities to see chatoyancy (cat's eye) are surprisingly few among these.

This effect is caused by regularly-spaced, parallel tubular inclusions within the tourmaline crystal, which reflect light in a way that creates a cat's eye appearance.

The effect of tourmaline is not achieved unless it contains the right amount of inclusions, so even though you may see cabochon cut crystals, cat's eye tourmaline is still limited.

Among them, when light is shone on this crystal, it is a high-quality stone with dense cat's eyes stretching from one end to the other.

The slightly bluish green is particularly striking.
