Exceptional Transparency and Beautiful Play of Color
Mexican Opal 2.11 CT

RECOMMEND POINT
Beautiful and rare blue play of color!

Are you familiar with the special effect called play of color?
Play of color is the shimmering brilliance that flickers across the surface of an opal, often compared to the light of the aurora.

And opals with such play of color are called precious opals,
and are one of the most admired gemstones among all opals.

What you are seeing is a large 2 CT+ Mexican opal!

The vivid play of color is a globally popular blue play of color.

Blue and purple play of color is said to be found in only one out of several hundred pieces,
and is considered a very rare coloration.

The color of an opal's play of color is actually determined by
the size of a substance called silica spheres, which are said to be present within the opal's crystal structure.

Typically, medium-sized silica spheres glow with a green play of color,
large silica spheres with red, and small silica spheres with blue play of color.

Among these, large and small silica spheres are considered rare in nature.
Why not enjoy the precious blue play of color in a large crystal?
