Raspberyl 0.36CT, a rare stone with a gentle pink color
RECOMMEND POINT
Gorgeous Oval Cabochon Crystal Raspberyl (Pezzottite) is a rare stone that shows off its gentle pink color.

The gemstone was discovered in November 2002 at the Sakavarana mine in the Fianarantsoa region of southeastern Madagascar.

Initially it was thought to be a type of beryl, and it came to be called raspberyl or pink beryl.

However, as a result of scientific analysis
In 2003, it was recognized by the International Mineralogical Association (IMA) as a new mineral with a similar structure to beryl, and the official name for both the mineral and gemstone was Pezzotta, named after Dr. Federico Pezzotta, who analyzed the mineral.

In 2002, the rough stones produced in Madagascar weighed approximately 40 kg, and it is said that about 10% of the rough stones were of gem quality.

Already depleted in Madagascar
It is said that there was some production around 2017, but there are no reports of new production.

Like the famous German rare stone auinite, it is mined by hand from pegmatite deposits because it is so small that it is impossible to produce it with heavy machinery.

The quality of the gemstone is extremely low, it has already been depleted, and it is impossible to get it in a large size.
It is a popular existence that can be called a rare stone among such rare stones.
At our store, we refer to it as raspberyl from its original nickname.

It is a gemstone that is originally very rare in number, but it is one of the gemstones that we will not have the opportunity to see more and more in the future.
