RECOMMEND
POINT A gem for collectors! This is an extremely rare purple Gahnite. |
|
Gahnite is a rare stone that is a variety of spinel and has been gaining popularity among collectors in recent years. Spinel contains magnesium, while gahnite contains zinc. These spinels have different constituent elements. This variety of spinel is very rare... ...So far, this has been the usual explanation of Gahnite that I have always written, but the stone I will be introducing this time is somehow different. Originally, gahnite is often blue in color because it contains cobalt, but the stone we are introducing this time is violet in color. We have been introducing a variety of colored stones, including rare stones, for over 20 years, but this is a purple gahnite that has never been seen before. Also, as you can see from the photo, it contains many inclusions. Spinel is normally sought after for its transparency, but even if that requirement is not met, the purple color is uncompromising. What's more, it is a large size, nearly 1 carat. Gahnite is a very rare loose stone, and while most loose stones are around 0.1 carats, this 0.95 carat is very attractive. As of April 2021, gem-quality violet garnites are not yet seen, as far as we can tell. This is truly a stone for collectors, and we are not sure whether we will be able to offer it in the future. |
