A rare stone with beautiful, mysterious fluorescence
Hyalite Opal (Glass Opal) 0.24CT

RECOMMEND POINT
A rare opal with fluorescence.
This hyalite is highly recommended for collections.

Hyalite opal is a rare, colorless and transparent stone.

This granular opal is formed when a saturated solution of silica dissolved in underground hot water, etc., cools down and solidifies into a jelly-like substance.

Hyalite base color has a color range from colorless to yellow-green and is said to be a variety of water opal, which is famous for being a colorless play opal.

It is called glass opal because it is glassy, and it contains very small amounts of uranium-based materials, so it fluoresces when illuminated with a short-wave black light.

Hyalite opal rough stones do not have a crystalline structure like quartz, so they come in a variety of shapes that resemble a collection of dripping water droplets.

The gem-quality portion is very small, so by cutting it loosely, more than 60% of the rough cannot be used.
Cut stones of hyalite are rarely available, which is why it is said to be the rarest of all opals.

Also, not all hyalites are fluorescent, and those that do react are more highly rated.

Since it is a gemstone that is close to nature, there are not many requirements for quality, but cut hyalite is expected to become more difficult to obtain in the future.

We recommend that you collect them while they are still readily available.
