RECOMMEND POINT
Small but popular
It is a rare stone raspberyl (pezzottite). .

This strange pink loose crystal

This gem is located in the province of Fianarantsoa in southeastern Madagascar
It was discovered in November 2002 at the Sakavarana Mine.

It was originally thought to be a type of beryl (beryl).
It came to be called raspberyl or pink beryl.

However, as a result of scientific analysis
As a new mineral with similar structure to beryl in 2003
Certified by the International Mineralogical Union (IMA)
Named after Dr. Federico Pezzotta, who analyzed the minerals.
Pezzotite became the official name for both the mineral name and the gemstone name.

At the time of 2002, about 40 kg of rough stones were produced in Madagascar.
Gem quality is about 10% of raw stones.

Already depleted in Madagascar
It is said that there was a small amount of production around 2017.
There are no follow-up reports of new production.

In addition, crystals almost always contain inclusions.
Small particles make up the majority.

Very little gem quality, already depleted, no large size available.
It is a popular existence that can be called a rare stone among such rare stones.

Because it becomes a great amount of money when it comes to a large size,
Although small in size
It is highly recommended when it comes to identification.
