RECOMMEND POINT
A rare stone highly recommended for your collection.

Afghanite from Saresan mine in Afghanistan.

Rare faceted Afghanite from Saresan mine in Afghanistan.

This is a very rare gem-like crystal with a bright cobalt blue color and transparency.

Afghanite was discovered in Afghanistan in 1968, and the name of the country where it was produced became the mineral and gem name.

Although it is a relatively new gemstone, it has the characteristic of fluorescently reacting to ultraviolet light.

Afghanite is a mineral that contains the same ingredients as lapis lazuli and ouinite, and the fact that it is produced together with sodalite and lazurite may have a causal relationship with its beautiful blue color and UV response.
If it is not of gem quality, green or colorless varieties also exist.

In any case, the amount of minerals produced is very low, and the quality of gemstones is even less, and it is difficult to cut because it has strong cleavage.

It has characteristics similar to the same lapis lazuli gemstone, auinite.

Due to its mineral characteristics, it contains inclusions, but the size of 0.7 CT is quite large.

It is difficult to find transparent, gem-quality loose crystals like the crystals introduced here.

Afghanite is said to have a vivid blue color because it contains many lazurite inclusions, the same as lapis lazuli.

Crystals that exhibit deep color and transparency at the same time are quite valuable.

We highly recommend it as one of your collection stones.
