パルガス閃石とも呼ばれる角閃石のパーガサイト。

1834年にフィンランドのパーガス(Pargas)地方で発見されたことからこちらの名前の由来になっています。

アンフィボールの仲間であるパーガサイトですが角閃石（アンフィボール）は基本クォーツ等他の鉱物に含まれた集合体として産出される事が多く単体として宝石質は極めて希少です。

宝石質であっても通常は不透明で黒色の結晶がほとんどでこのように高い透明度を持つものはまた珍しくなります。

上品なグリーンが魅力の一石。
劈開が完全でカッティングがとても難しい点も希少石のお決まりです。

こちらのルースのようにファセットカットが綺麗に施されたものは稀少です。
