Veillinenite belongs to a rare group of minerals called herderite, among which it is a rare phosphate mineral containing manganese (Mn) and beryllium (Be).

Since the discovery of this gemstone, transparent stones have been limited to Pakistan, but in 2006, it was reported that very small gem-quality Veillinenite was being mined in Afghanistan.

Now, 16 years have passed since then (as of 2022), although I have had the opportunity to see low-quality minerals several times, the gem-quality Veillinite that we have handled at our store is only 2 stones in total this time. only.

Regarding products from Afghanistan, this is the first time we have received them.

This makes it a very rare gemstone.

In the first place, even rough stones are quite small in size and transparent, which are rarely produced regardless of where they are produced.

Also, since it has a perfect cleavage and there are only a limited number of pieces that can be cut, it is as small as auinite, around 0.1 to 0.2 CT.

For this reason, gemstone-quality Veillinite exceeding 1CT is said to be museum-grade.

The color range is light pink to rose red, salmon pink, pale gray, and brown, and even though there are shades of color, the basic colors are from red to pink.

It seems that the gentle pink color depends on the amount of manganese contained in Veillinite.

The atmosphere is reminiscent of the rhodochrosite and padparadscha sapphires from Sweet Home Mine.

Meanwhile, this one stone has a clear orange color.

Although it may contain some orange, there are very few opportunities to see vivid orange to this extent.

There are very few such bright orange facet cuts, and above all, the class that exceeds 1CT can be said to be one of the highest quality collection stones.
