[Loose stone appraisal certificate included] It will captivate you with its amazing transparency! Triphane 17.35 CT
High-quality crystals that bring out the refreshing yellow color with outstanding transparency. This is a large triphane that is over 17 carats. Triphane is a mineral discovered in Brazil in 1887 and means "three faces" in Greek. It is also a gemstone belonging to the spodumene (spodumene) family, and its mineral characteristics come in a variety of colors due to the replacement of aluminum, one of its main components, by another component. For example, if the main component contains a lot of manganese ions, it will become "kunzite," which has a purple or pink color, and if it contains a lot of chromium ions, it will become "hiddenite," which has a green color. The color-producing factors of triphane have yet to be elucidated, and it remains a bit mysterious, but one interesting feature is that the name of the gemstone changes as some of its components are replaced. It is also famous as a healing stone. For this reason, low-quality crystals such as brown ones that do not belong to the kunzite or hiddenite group are sometimes recognized as triphane in the general public, but since there are few clear spodumene crystals with few inclusions, most gem-class spodumene that are faceted are yellow or golden in color. Of course, the ratings will go up dramatically. Because of its beauty, it is also called Yellow Kunzite. Of course, just like Kunzite, it can be easily fashioned into jewelry. It is surprisingly rare to find loose gem-quality triphanes, so this is a gemstone that we would recommend as a collection piece. |
