Rare gem crystal!

Aragonite 2.88CT

RECOMMEND POINT
Aragonite has a very impressive dazzling shine!
This is a highly recommended stone for your collection.

Aragonite is a rare stone with a powerful fire.

It is a collection stone that has very few gemstone crystals and is very difficult to cut.

This is one of the few rare faceted stones that emits a powerful sparkle from clear, high-quality crystals.

Aragonite is a gemstone that was discovered in the Aragon region of Spain in 1797 and named after the region where it was produced.

In addition, aragonite has calcium carbonate as its main component, and is homologous to calcite (the composition is the same, but the atomic arrangement is different), with calcite crystallized in hexagonal crystals and aragonite crystallized in orthorhombic crystals.
Although it is not produced in large quantities like calcite, it is produced in a variety of shapes such as coral and hail.
Because of its appearance, it is called aragonite in Japanese.

Shellfish and pearls are also closely related, and since coral is made from a mixture of calcium and carbonate, it can actually be said to be aragonite.

Aragonite itself is not that rare, but almost 99% of it cannot be cut into shining facets, and most of the aragonite on the market is rough or spherical.

Even if gemstone crystals exist, their hardness is around 3.5, which is quite soft, making it extremely difficult even for experienced cutters.

Especially beautiful loose stones become valuable collector stones.

Another interesting discovery is that it exhibits a strong fluorescent reaction under long-wave ultraviolet light.
In the image, the color of the ultraviolet light overlaps, making it appear blue-green, but the loose color itself is a fluorescent white color.
The color will change depending on the wavelength of the ultraviolet rays and the distance at which the light is applied, so I think it would be interesting to try out different colors.

There are not many opportunities to introduce high quality faceted cut aragonite.

If you are interested, please add it to your collection.
