| [Loose stone appraisal certificate included] A large, rare stone over 3 carats! Green Herderite 3.15ct
Herderite is a rare stone that is known only to those in the know. It is a rare gemstone for collectors, as it is produced in small quantities and is difficult to find even in mineral encyclopedias. It was discovered in 1825 in the tin mines of Ehrenfriedersdorf in the Saxony region of Germany, and was named after the mine's director at the time, Von It is named after Baron Herder. It is a "phosphate mineral" of calcium and beryllium and is generally colorless or pale yellow. A characteristic of this mineral is that there are very few beautiful gem-quality crystals that can be cut into gemstones, and most are specimen-grade. Naturally, these crystals also contain inclusions, but there are very few that are good enough to be cut in the first place, so the fact that they are transparent and sparkle makes them already valuable. What caught our eye the most about this crystal was its beautiful, visible green color. Most gem-quality herderite is colorless or yellow, with green, pink, and purple being extremely rare, making them rare colors. One of them is green color. At first glance, it appears to be a gentle muscat green, resembling plenite (grapestone). We have introduced many rare colored stones to date, and this is a rare stone of a class that we have rarely had in stock in the past. Furthermore, faceted stones over 3 carats are rarely seen in Japan. This is a highly recommended collection stone. |
