[Loose stone appraisal certificate included] A rare extra-large cat's eye! Golden Beryl Cat's Eye 109.91 CT
A lustrous cabochon-cut beryl crystal with a beautiful honey gold color. This is a golden beryl cat's eye that boasts an astounding size of 109 carats. Even among regular yellow beryl, crystals in the 100 carat range are quite rare, but crystals with a cat's eye effect are extremely rare. Even though we receive a large amount of loose stones every day, we haven't seen a gem-quality beryl cat's eye for over 10 years, so I wonder if anyone in Japan owns one of this size? Or perhaps it is so rare that there are only a handful of them left. This is an extra-large beryl cat's eye that is truly out of the ordinary. Beryl group minerals are characterized by their tendency to contain tubular inclusions within their crystals. It may be easier to understand if you imagine it as a straw. When many of these tubes are lined up in parallel, they reflect light and lines appear on the crystal surface, but this cannot be produced intentionally and is a product that is created by chance over a long period of time. Unlike ordinary sparkling jewels, it makes you feel closer to the mysteries of nature. Similarly, cat's eye appears in other gemstones when certain minerals are included in a regular pattern, but in the case of beryl, although it is characterized by having many inclusions, for some reason cat's eye rarely appears. The conditions for its creation are probably more difficult than for other gemstones. Inclusions can be seen when shining a strong light on them up close, but the clarity is so outstanding that they are not visible to the naked eye. Because the size is quite large, it is difficult to draw lines well, but one of the joys of this technique is being able to draw them out well by changing the distance and strength of the light. In any case, it is rare to have the opportunity to see a beryl cat's eye that is over 100 carats. This is an attractive crystal that allows you to enjoy the charm of crystals. It is truly a mysterious stone. Enjoy the beautiful appearance of these large crystals, which cannot be found in cut beryl. |
